Resetting Traps and Creation Crystals – Simple Guide
Resetting Traps and Creation Crystals is a pretty straightforward process. Here’s how to do it step by step.
What you’ll need:
- A copy of Skylanders Giants on the Wii (note: not Wii U or other systems)
- For Traps: a Traptanium portal
- For Creation Crystals: any portal compatible with the game
The process is the same for both Traps and Crystals.
Step 1:
Connect your portal and load up Skylanders Giants.
Once you’re on the main menu, place your Trap or Creation Crystal on the portal.
Step 2:
Go to Settings → General.
You should see two options:
- “Visiting Nicknames: Yes/No”
- "Reset Broken Toys"
If you don’t see “Reset Broken Toys,” try resetting the game or continue to Step 3.
If you do see it, skip to Step 4.
Step 3:
- Return to the main menu and load into the actual game.
- Place an actual Skylander figure on the portal to make sure it registers in-game.
- Then return to the main menu and go back to Settings → General, and the Reset Broken Toys option should now appear.
Step 4:
Select Reset Broken Toys, then confirm Yes.
I recommend doing this twice, as it can be a bit finicky.
For multiple Traps or Crystals:
- Return to the main menu
- Remove the first Trap/Crystal and place the next one
- Wait a few seconds so the portal can register it
-
Go back to Settings → General → Reset Broken Toys
Final Tip:
After resetting, it’s best to test your Traps or Crystals in their intended game. Sometimes the reset doesn’t work, so it’s smart to double-check before playing or selling!
