How to Clean Your Skylanders
Share

Got some stubborn gunk or dirt on your Skylanders? Here are a few simple methods I’ve used to restore hundreds of figures to like-new condition.
General Dust and Surface Cleaning
For regular dust or light grime, an all-purpose spray cleaner and a cloth will do the trick. Spray a bit onto the cloth (not directly on the figure) and gently wipe with up-and-down or circular movements.
For tighter spots, you can use a toothbrush with just a small amount of water. Make sure to tap it a few times after wetting it so it’s only slightly damp.
Avoid scrubbing near the base chip area, since water can damage it.
This method works great for getting rid of surface dirt, though it won’t help with deeper stains.
Marker Writing or Paint Transfers
If you’re dealing with marker writing or paint rubs from other figures, isopropyl alcohol is your best bet.
Dip a cotton swab into the alcohol, enough to make it damp, but not dripping, and use light circular motions on the affected area.
Be very careful with the amount of pressure on scrubbing; too much pressure can remove the figure’s actual paint. Try a small, hidden area first just to be safe.
This method works really well for removing permanent marker from the base and unwanted paint transfers without damaging the figure.
These are my two tried and true methods I use to clean hundreds of Skylanders every week. They’re quick, safe, and get the job done.
